RF Splitter Thingy...
Got a new STB fitted yesterday to replace broken one, and it came with this thingymajiggy that sticks on the back (around the cable in socket), has one lead going to the IR Blaster socket (for power, i assume - the sig goes bad when disconnected), one going to the box's RF out (a passthru), an in socket for the cable, and an output to tv (rf). This outputs the box signal, all the terestrial channels, one with a still image saying "NTL - TV to talk about" (really old image), and one with vertical colour bars. If i tune my TV into its Cable setting, i can get the audio, and a rolling, rubbishy picture from prem plus . Why is it only this channel that works?

This is a replacememt STB that an engineer fitted? Why was it not installed fully and checked to make sure the channels were coming through ok?
Can you not connect via SCART? Sounds like it needs a return visit from an NTL tech to sort it out or you need to get it packet hit to get the other channels put back on.

Re: RF Splitter Thingy...
Sorry - havent explained properly - scart / box RF channel working fine - all pay channels there. Just wonderin' why only one channel comes through to the TVs cable decoder, and why prem plus of all?

Re: RF Splitter Thingy...
It's an analogue channel. Most analogue channels are on frequencies that are too low for normal TVs to be able to tune to. This one obviously isn't.
It's "rolling and rubbishy" because it's scrambled.

I don't know if its just me, but something doesn't quite add up here.
bdav: Have you called NTL's CS up to get an engineer out to finish the job properly?
