I have D5100 and the answer machine function has disabled (and I've lost the manual) - can anybody to me how to re-enable it? I guess select Menu then Answer Machine option but it doesn't seem obvious what to do next. Thanks in advance.
You need to press the Answer Machine Symbol (Is also Clear Button) then press 8 for on or off. AN audible warning will sound when either you have turned it on or off.
