Angry Picture size problems

Hi,

I am probably being really thick here but I have a problem.

When watching terrestial channels to picture on my tv fits fine. However, when watching channels on NTL the picture does not fit the screen correctly. For example, watching the football tonight, if the score appears at the foot of the screen the name of the away team is cropped so you can not see the full score, everything is too far left as you look at the screen !!. Really annoying.

I have gone to settings and selected VISUAL SETTINGS. I have tried each of the three settings (Letterbox, standard and widescreen) but it does not cure the problem.

Can anyone help ??

Re: Picture size problems

i'm afraid it is a well known fault, there is a fix due to resolve it but i don't have the date i'm afraid, tuning into other channels then going back to the channel you were watching usually solves it for a while, it works on my samsung

Re: Picture size problems

Its a fault? I thought it wasn't a bug, but just an annoyance of using the Pan-And-Scan feature of widescreen on a fullscreen TV. Where they zoom the picture and crop the sides?

Re: Picture size problems

The fix for the Langley Samsung picture stretching bug began its rollout in most areas this morning. (All except Teesside, Surrey and Belfast). If you're not in one of these areas, reboot your STB and it should download the new software (if it hasn't done it already). There are no other changes in the software apart from this bug fix.

If you are in Teesside, Surrey or Belfast, you'll have a wait a few days longer.

Re: Picture size problems

Ah good! Wondered if that was going to happen today

And the bug only occurred on those channels that are taken from digital terrestrial
