Err3 on stb

Hi,
Can anyone advise? I live in the Wirral area and since last night my stb keeps freezing and a message "Err3" appears where the channel numbers appear.
This is obviously effecting my broadband connection which also uses the stb modem.

If I switch off and on then it works for a while, but it has frozen overnight again. Is this a problem with the stb or a fault somewhere else?

hi Basisboy err 3 box is dead needs replacing m8.

Err3 means memory failure
call NTL CS is needed the box has died.

CS will have you go through everything again unpluging it etc they did me and then said an engineer would come out after I told her it was no different.

The engineer then went through everything again to try and get it to work before going to the van to get the replacement.

Took him an hour from arriving to leaving a STB working. He could have been finished in less than 15 mins had he just changed it
