Question How can I reset the parental lock key?

Hello,

I have the old analogue cable tv box. I had blocked some of the channels using the parental lock feature to stop the kids accessing some of the channels. Now I need to unlock a channel but I have forgotton what my parental lock number was.

Is there any way that you can actually reset a cable box back to default?

Hope you can help.

Kind Regards

Re: How can I reset the parental lock key?

You can ring NTL for help with this, but only if you are the account holder.

You could try guessing the default number if you haven't altered this, something like 1234 may have been used.

Re: How can I reset the parental lock key?

Sorry for pointing out the obvious here, but if there was an easy way to reset the box to get around the parental lock, wouldn't it kind of negate the point?

Sorry, not being helpful, it just amused me
