DigitalUK switchover starts tonight for some Midlands transmitters.

The following areas in the Midlands will lose BBC Two analogue tonight (April 5th) at midnight:

Andoversford,
Bromsgrove,
Bucknell,
Churchdown Hill,
Clun,
Coalbrookdale,
Eardiston,
Ewyas Harold,
Garth Hill VP,
Haden Hill,
Halesowen,
Hazler Hill,
Hereford,
Hope under Dinmore,

Lark Stoke,
Ludlow,
New Radnor,
Oakeley Mynd,
Peterchurch,
Presteigne,
Ridge Hill,

Not forgetting Sandy Heath (Anglia region) and it's dependant relays at Luton, Kimpton and Northampton which completed DSO stage 1 on 30 March.

DSO stage 2 completes on 13 April, but the COM mux will stay in their pre DSO slots and powers for several months.

London goes Digital next April.

London will be switchover starting with BBC Two on April 4th 2012 and the rest to follow on April 18th 2012.

Rest of ITV1 Meridian areas to switchover in June 2012.

DSO stage 1 will happen tonight in the STV Central TV region tonight (May 10th)

The following areas will lose BBC Two Scotland at midnight and will need to reture their Box or TV tomorrow.

Darvel - Parts of central Scotland, Argyll and Bute,

We were one of the first to switch over.
At first the freeview reception was quite bad and I thought that here is a case of technology moving forward too fast, however they didn't finish off the top of the transmittter until they had completed the switch off of the analogue. i'm happy to report that over the last 12 months there have been no issues at all with reception.
Moral - if at first you receive intermittent reception be patient.
