I have a tv with one scart socket and a tv/av button. I have connected a new Bush 160GB Top Up TV Digital TV Recorder and now want to connect a DVD player. by scart to the 2nd scart socket on the box. How will i be able to switch from Bush box to DVD player?

Best solution is use a Scart switch/splitter plugged into the TV scart rather than loop through the TV recorder. You can then use the two independently (watch a DVD while recording a TV programme).

Putting the Bush recorder in standby and then powering the DVD player on should do the trick, that's how i've always done it.
