Interesting Problem

OK my new Philips HDTV packed in last week and its away to get repaired. Replacement telly has no HDMI port on it. Any suggestions as to how to reset the box to scart? Have a component port on the telly. The last time I asked telewest to reset the box but their highly technical response was to unplug the box and give me a bloody new one! Lost all my saved programs. Now I have 40 hours of CSI on the box so am not going down that road. There must be a way to change the output to scart.......

Re: Interesting Problem

There is a way to do it and I know that TW tech support do know it although thankfully I haven't had to.

I think the mechanism is buried somewhere in this forum but could't tell you where. (Sorry!)

The other reason I know it's possible is because we found our TVD had been sent some sort of hard reset hit at one point in the middle of the night - which forced it back to factory default settings i.e. SCART.

Re: Interesting Problem

Reboot box, then immediately hold down the play and stop buttons on the box. After around 15-20 seconds, the display will read 'output'. Then use the forward or back buttons to select Scart (in your case), HDMI or YPbPr - press ok when Scart is displayed, the box will then reboot outputting to the scart socket.

Enjoy

Re: Interesting Problem

Should point out, I think the 'Scart' option comes up as 'Std' when cycling through.
