Re: Bbc Hd

Moved to V+ forum (as I assume you're asking about watching it on Virgin).

BBC HD itself is free.

But to watch it on Virgin, you need a V+ box.

This costs £150 (new customers) / £100 (existing customers) for installation, with a £5 monthly fee on TV "Size M" & "Size L" (there is no monthly fee for V+ on TV "Size XL").

On Digital Satellite, BBC HD is Free-To-Air (FTA), & requires an HD STB (e.g. Sky HD, e.g. Freesat HD).

It's on Channel 108 if you have the V+ box, but quite honestly there isn't really that much to watch on there. I wouldn't get a V+ box purely to watch HD as you would soon get bored of it

I know what you mean, but at least they will be increasing their broadcasting hours later in the year.

Wish we'd get some more HD on VOD though.

Re: Bbc Hd

Will they? I was informed from the head of BBC HD's blog that it was a target that it'd average 5hrs by september (compared to the 4hrs currently it averages - yes, yes I know wombledon will be on for 11hrs a day soon but it'll be cut right back afterwards probably until the olympics). There is no indication whatsoever when they will fulfill their licence and get upto 9hrs a day. Still I'm hopeful 5hrs will become standard, just a bit doubtful when it comes to targets.
