No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

I have a V+ box which has been working fine until today. I have just got a Panasonic Plasma TV which I connected to the V+ box. I can get channels but no Program Guide or Menus so cannot change any settings or access my recordings. I read elsewhere on here that someone else had a different problem after connecting a Panasonic Plasma TV. Apparantly it was down to the type of box and something about frequencies but it was not a V+ box. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

Re: No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

Umm

1. HDMI/Scart

if Scart

2a. Why?
2b. Check its the TV Scart and not the VCR Scart

Re: No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

It is connected with a scart because the old tv had no hdmi connection and am not able to change the settings to connect to hdmi. I have tried both the scart sockets on the TV and get the same problem.

Re: No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

You are plugged into the wrong Scart socket on the V+.

only the TV Scart will output the menus. The VCR scart only outputs the TV channel

once you can see the menus you will also be able to set up the HDMI connection

Re: No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

Thanks Zeph and BenMcr you were both right I had the scart lead in the wrong slot on the V+ box. I only checked the connections on the new TV because there was no problem when the old TV was connected. And I only disconnected the scart from the TV end. It all works now so thanks again

There's no reason why that setup would have worked on the old TV.

Re: No menus after connecting new Panasonic Plasma TV

Free is good. Cablevison only provide component cables. They are now connected to my DVD player, the HDMI to their DVR.
