HD on my box

Hello people. I hope someone has an answer to my annoying problem. Ive had the V+ box for a few months now and my hd is the same quality as normal bbc (ie poor pic) My box runs through another normal box. My tv is a 40inch Samsung M87. What can i do? Ive tried varying the settings on the box with no difference.

Re: HD on my box

Do not understand "My box runs through another normal box."

To get the best from V+ (upscaled standard definition pictures and HD pictures on channel 108) the V+ must be conected to an HD Ready TV by an HDMI cable.

Sorry, the cable comes in and goes to my parents box. they put a splitter onthe back of that box so they could connect my box.

Re: HD on my box

Who are "they"?

When VM installed my V+, the splitter was before the box (split to a V+ and a V box), rather than through.

Re: HD on my box

How are you connecting your V+ box to your TV SCart, HDMI or component?

Re: HD on my box

I use HDMI. And the engineer put a splitter on the non hd (parents) box as i had my box added after my parents box was installed. Im wondering if im not getting full bandwidth because my signal is split.

Have you tried switching between 720/720wide and 1080/1080wide in the settings?

Re: HD on my box

What HD stuff have you tried watching?

Remember it is only BBC HD and HD VOD stuff on the box.

The normal channels do tend to look good depending on the time of day and what the programme is.

Nah its not my tv because ive got a ps3 and xbox 360 connected to the other 2 HDMI ports and they look awesome. I might have to call virgin up and see what they say. I bet they will ping the box and then tell me to turn off for 5 mins and it should be sorted but ive tried that before and its still poor picture.
