New V+ Installation issue...
Finally succumbed & had the V+ installed yesterday. All went ok & worked fine all of last night.
Turned the TV on this morning & everything was OK for a while but without warning the picture disappeared, shortly followed by the sound. I could manage to get the guide & all the settings without any problems but that was all.
I finally tried swiching back to the scart connection & everything is ok but when I try HDMI its still the same as before. Virgin Tech support cant find anything wrong.
The HDMI lead is the one supplied with the box & have tried disconnecting, reconnecting..different HDMI sockets....etc, etc...
Would be grateful if anyone has any ideas??
Will get a new HDMI lead & try that first of course.

I'm not sure I want to write this as a new guy, but have you tried the 'magic button' whilst saving your settings?
Cant remember if it was the text button or the info button, but got to be worth a search
Good luck, and as a potential new customer I will follow the thread with interest

Re: New V+ Installation issue...
After a few more attempts, when I switch to HDMI I can get sound now but still no picture. As before, all the menus are there. Its just strange as it worked fine all afternoon & evening after the installation. Maybe its a handshake issue with the TV....Which is a Toshiba Regza by the way.

Re: New V+ Installation issue...
Do you have anything else connected to a HDMI port on the TV? I had this problem on my V+ when I also connected a PC to the TV.

No nothing..I have three ports & only use one for the V+ box. I used to have a PS3 connected & never had an issue with that..
I've picked up a new lead so will give that a go later & will report back!!

Re: New V+ Installation issue...
Yes this would most likly bee a HDCP (high deffenation copy protection) handshack issue. due to the fact you can still get menus and occationally sound (menus arnt HDCP protected) its usually caused by a loose cable or short in the hdmi lead. if fully dissconnecting and reconecting (WHILE BOTH DEVICES (TV AND V+) ARE OFF) dosnt fix it then a new HDMI lead should.

Had tried unplugging & replugging the lead with both the units off but to no avail...
Just tried a new lead & everything is back to normal.....Phew!!
Hopefully its lasts...Fingers crossed!!
Many thanks to those who added their thoughts..Its nice to have somewhere to come when problems like this arise
Cheers!

Re: New V+ Installation issue...
Hope you didnt spend a fortune on a new HDMI lead as many tests have proven that cheap ones are no different to the expensive ones lol
