HD services in the UK are a right mess at the moment, virgin only carrying BBC HD, sky has alot more HD channels, but now ITV HD is only going to be broadcast on Freesat.

What a total mess. Im giving up with the HD TV market for the time being, blueray films are great, but to watch HD TV it looks like you will need at least two systems, sky + freesat, with virgin lagging well well behind.

Re: Euro 2008 live on BBC HD

This is meant to be a surprise? It's effectively an emergent technology. VM have taken the decision to ignore it until it's more mature, with the exception of VOD which is a revenue stream, Sky are spending money trying to corner the market and failing as the ITV move into Freesat shows.

In six months to a year the market will have sorted itself out and the winners and losers will start to appear, until then it's not really going to be clear.
