V+ recordings! I am at end of my tether

I Hope you can help. On wednesday I had a new box fitted. Since then I have been unable to record a full programme, progs of 2hour have stopped recording after 45mins ,progs of 30 mins have stopped after 3mins. I have spoken to customer services, Faults, Disconnections who have all advised me this is a national problem since April 2007. A faults manahger informed me that it was a fault resolved in April 2008 but it was obviously still a problem in my area!!!!!. A customer Sevice Manager called Simon was going to reply to me on Thursday evening and despite to reminders he has still not phoned me back.
IS anyone else having this problem? please reply in the negative so I can report back to V/m
Has anyone any idea how I can escalate this?
I am losing the will to live no one will send a tech out to help!!!

cant see how it would be a national problem, as the problem that your having is to do your hardware & not your connection.

Re: V+ recordings! I am at end of my tether

Our V+ recordings have been fine - if it was a 'national' problem, I'm sure there would have been more posts about it, so local looks more likely.

You could also try posting in the support newsgroup virginmedia.support.tv

(the news server is news.virginmedia.com )

They will not be monitoring posts, just now, but you can usually expect a reply within 48 hours (usually very much less, but weekends may be different)

I've had broadband problems sorted very professionally using the newsgroups, I hope the TV support group works for you, if you use it

i dont have a V + receiver myself, but as i say problems with recordings would be to do with your hardware.

Assuming you tried resetting the box - i'm sure i read somewhere that this is a service mode - if the engineer says it's OK tell him that there's no problem swapping the box then

Re: V+ recordings! I am at end of my tether

I had this problem a few months ago - they kept telling me that it was a national problem etc etc. I too was at the end of my tether and only got my V+ box replaced after weeks of calls to customer service and arguments over the phone. Don't let them fob you off - demand a new box immediately - threaten them with cancellation etc. Having said all that I've not had a problem with my new box in the last few months so its worth perservering.

Hope that it of some use

Phil

I had this with a new box after a couple of weeks.
but i knew i was going to change the hard drive and bingo all was ok.
except it still shows 80hrs on record time.

installation engineer even told me how to format the drive

and have noticed with 7200rpm it seems better at recording the HD
