Dvd Recorder,V+ set Up

hello i have a TV,Sony cinema dvd surround,freeview box,top scart on V+ goes to the TV,bottom scart on the V+ goes to the freeview,Scart from the Sony dvd goes to the scart in the TV.And the ariel lead into the antenna of the Freeview.
If i wanted to add a dvd recorder do i have to sacrifice the sony dvd cinema surround.If not what would the connections be thanks for any help.

- as for the sound, I can't help, but it may depend on which device in the chain is decoding the signal ?
