Re: Setanta Sport HD
The Golf Channel uses HD Yankee pictures which, although theyre not the real thing, are still far superior to basic tv pictures.
Hardly worth forking out more loot if youve got a decent tele.
Funny how the yanks are way ahead of us with HD.
Were more interested in bloody phones.

Re: Setanta Sport HD
that would be a big plus for vm as sky and bt customers would have to pay and vm could offer it free

Re: Setanta Sport HD
i read over on digitalspy ages ago that VM were offered Setanta Sports HD and turned it down so I can't see it coming to us.
Shame as they could have signed an exclusive HD deal with Setanta and then finally had a channel that Sky don't have and in HD showing Prem football

Re: Setanta Sport HD
Does anyone else find the picture on Setanta Sports a bit naff? I would have thought Sentanta in HD would be a big improvement.

Re: Setanta Sport HD
i find setanta sports picture often worse than watching a clip on utube.
Some of the compression technology used is truly awful - and i only have a 32" lcd panel, god alone knows what it looks like on a 40".

Re: Setanta Sport HD
There was a story doing the rounds last year that Setanta had proposed an HD sports channel but Sky had refused to give it carriage, making it uneconomic to run in the UK (Virgin not having sufficient enough customers to make it viable as the sole carrier).
Strangely enough, there's a thread over on Digital Spy here that also starts with the Setanta HD vans being spotted. Turns out they shoot a number of games in HD for the overseas market, but not for home consumption. Yet.

Re: Setanta Sport HD
surely someone at VM can see the logic in providing football games in HD, plus whatever else Setanta can source in HD and having it exclusive to VM.
Just look what prem football did for Sky and the amount of people that have gone Sky HD just for football.
