Can you use V+ remote to control volume of AV Amp ?

Is it possible to use the V+ remote to alter the volume on a Yamaha AV amp?

I have only heard of codes for Tvs.

Might be worth trying the codes for your AV amp's manufacturer (if there are any) as sometimes those sorts of remotes can be dual-purpose
