Cabling query V+ Installation

I'm having V+ installed on Saturday and have the following query:

Can someone please tell me - does the V+ box require a different cable from the box on the wall to it compared to the stb I currently have? You see I have cable entering the house via the front of the house into the front room (dining room). From there it goes under the floorboards into the rear room(lounge). So changing it would be extremely difficult! So I'm hoping it's just a case of unplugging the STB and plugging the same cable into the V+.

Well, Virgin said they would arrive between 1 and 6 on Saturday and the engineer turned up about 1:20pm and had V+ installed pretty smoothly in about 20mins and has been working fine right from the start. Very impressed so far, touch wood.

A couple of queries:

Is picture quality better with V+ than the old STB? I haven't got a HDTV, in fact the TV is 10+ years old but I'm convinced the picture is hugely better than it was before.

Minor cosmetic one this, the lights on the front of the box - there are some curved ones above and below the buttons on the right hand side - should the left hand side light up in a similar way? It looks unsymmetrical without.

My thoughts exactly. Mine is the same - I always thought it was just an odd styling decision - but maybe they aren't all that way?
