V+ & Digisender

Will a V+ box work with a digi sender. I currently use a Digisender with my PACE box to send the TV picture to two other TVs and the picture and sound transfers as if connected to the original source?

Thanks

Re: V+ & Digisender

In theory, it should do.

The V+ has two SCART sockets, like the Pace boxes, the top one being for your TV and the bottom for a DVD / HD / VHS recorder.

The thing to bear in mind is that on a V+, if you use the HDMI or Component Video output to your main TV, it disables the first SCART socket too. The bottom one still works, but there is no EPG output on it - i.e. you get the pictures and sound, but no now and next bar, no menus etc etc.

So, if you get a V+ and a HD TV and watch it in HD, the only signal to send out to your digisender is through the bottom SCART and has no EPG on it.

If you use your digisender to also send remote commands, again it should work if it does with your Pace box. Some of the early Pace boxes used a weird IR protocol which a lot of IR senders don't understand, if yours works then it sould with the V+.

As a bonus, the old remotes should also work with a V+. We have an old blue "shark" remote I bought of eBay to use upstairs with our IR sender, and that also controls the basic functions of the V+ too.

Re: V+ & Digisender

So I should 100% be OK if I don't have an HD TV? As I only have a 3 year old Sony 32" widescreen with three SCARTS.

Re: V+ & Digisender

Hi I have a V+ box. Originally on an SD TV with the TV connected to the first scart and the digisender to the second. Now with a HDTV using a HDMI cable to connect to the TV and the digisender connected to the second scart on the V+ box (labelled video).

Hope this helps.

Re: V+ & Digisender

I currently have a Sky system, but am looking to change. I understand that Virgin do not do an equivalent of the Sky digilink, and so am looking to get a digisender instead. Will it allow me to use the record and playback features of V+ in another room?
