Trouble with component...

Hi all,

Firstly, this is how I have it connected and set right now:

V+ box TV SCART to Philips 14" TV (for menu etc)
V+ Component out to Dell 2407WFP Component In
Dell is set to show component in and shows in the menu there is a cable connected
Optical cable from V+ box to my Sony AV amp

I run my V+ box into my Dell 2407WFP. This was working fine last week after I had it installed and set up using my small TV. I moved my room around and had to unplug my box etc. Now I can only view through the SCART. If I set it to Component (irrispective of 720, 1080, or wide on both) I get a blank screen on my monitor (telling me there's no input) and then it reverts back to SCART to my small TV (because I'm not pressing text as I don't get an input on my monitor). I've checked and re-checked all cabling, reset the box etc etc and still no luck. Component cable doesn't look damaged and hasn't moved since last week and it is a good quality one.

Just spent 30 mins on the phone to Virgin and they're not sure.

Anyone had similar? Help appreciated.

Re: Trouble with component...

I've now fixed this, so I thought I'd put up what it was in case anyone else has the same issue.

After reading around it seems that the circuit latches can get stuck open, to solve follow these steps:

* Power off the monitor
* Power off the console
* Disconnect all cabling from the bottom and/or sides of the monitor (especially the power cord)
* Press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
* Reconnect the game console to the monitor component
* Reconnect the power cord to the monitor
* Power on the game console
* Power on the monitor
* Press the monitor Input button and switch to #5 Component
