Picture Quality

Hello, ive been reading lots of posts with great interest in regard to picture quality settings on the v+ box, Ive only had mine a few days, but have to say Im very dissapointed with the standard channels. BBC HD is excellent, but pretty much all the others are grainy, pixelated and blur on movement,

I have a Toshiba 37C3030D Tv, Ive been experimenting with 720 and 1080, wide and not wide, im using a standard HDMI cable, which I have also changed on the off chance it was a cable problem. In fact I get a slightly better picture with scart (When enabled).

My sole reason for going for the V+ box was to improve the picture quality on all channels using HDMI. HD will be an added bonus, when there are channels available. But so far, I feel a bit ripped off to be honest. Phoned virgin, but the india call centre seem a bit trigger happy with the engineer visits, I was rather hoping they might offer some advice on settings. Not sure there's a fault with the box, as BBC HD is stunning on times.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated and many thanks

Jon

Re: Picture Quality

I don't know if it will help you or not. We have now had Virgin V+ cable for three weeks and just installed (with help from members here) and connected a tv.

I found a link for my Samsung

Perhaps they have a similar Owners Thread for your tv with settings guidance .... Use the search 'owners thread for .....'

Who is celebrating two hard days of eventually connecting her tv !!!

Re: Picture Quality

It looks like you have the new version of my tv - I have the 37WLT68 which was made before yours.

Picture with V+ is excellent on all channels.

Are you running the TV with the standard settings, or have you played with them? I suspect you need to tweak the picture to get the best results.

Re: Picture Quality

Thanks guys, I have tinkered with the settings a fair bit, maybe I should try factory settings.
Interesting the 32" version of the toshiba seems to get a better picture.
