Still not able to record from the radio...

Hi folks,

a bit disappointed that after the new code drop, we are still unable to record from the radio. Will this ever come?

Anyway, can someone please point me at a definitive list of the enhancements?

Maybe. It's on the "to do" list. But the focus in this code drop was mainly fixing bugs.

Not definitive, but:

Improved performance
Improved disc spindown
Remove "resting" logo
Display teletext subtitles on HDMI (ex-TW only. ex-NTL already had this)
Add volume control in Settings menu when not in HD mode
Enable VCR SCART output at all times
Improved reporting of recording clashes
Default padding changed to 2 minutes before and 5 minutes after

and over 100 bug fixes.

I would also like to be able to record from the radio. Would it be possible to record interactive streams too (like the Test Match special commentary with visual scorecard) - this is a red button feature on BBC1 and also on 5 live sports extra.

Recording interactive is a can of worms, because the various components come from different servers and are combined in real time. (How can you rewind that?) I can't see any way that interactive services could be recorded in general. But it might be possible to write an interactive application with features specifically for the V+, such as a button for "record this stream".

Even a very simple interactive application such as the language selection on Euronews has some interesting "features" on the V+.
