Re: Failed

This is strange, as all of our programmes seems to be recorded perfectly.

Also I have noticed, after this latest code drop, the hard drive on the V+ box finally shuts down when in standby after 2 mins of inactivity, and when coming out of standby, the hard drive spins up instantly, and comes on about a minute before recording is due to start, so I am not sure, but itf finally working how it should for us (so far so good anyway!)

I believe that this is a direct result of the code drop, but it appears to be a 'one-off'. It happened to me on the day of the code drop but I have had no problems since.

Re: Failed

We found every series link recorded programme we'd watch and deleted reappeared as failed - not a big problem just 10 mins of deleting !

Bizarre !

Re: Failed

well.... dunno if this is the same thing or not but:

I recorded 'Crash' the other night, and that is marked as failed

I recorded 'Sexy Beast' Sunday before last. Screen shows recorded 1 hr 55 mins, but after 28 mins it brings up a screen as if I've finished watching it. (do I want to watch again, go to live TV etc)

any ideas?

cheers
Dan

Dan

Did you record the 28min recording before or after you received the new code drop? If before, then it was a known fault. If after, then that’s bad news since one of the bug fixes was to address the problem of short recordings.

To quote Stephen Featham who is Head of TV Product Engineering, Virgin Media.

Short Recordings.
A bug has been fixed which could cause the V+ to stop recording part way through at any time, even though the recording would be displayed as being the correct length.

Re: Failed

Hi John

good question

I wasn't really aware of the code drop, but checking on other threads in the Cable TV section.... I guess it would have appeared sometime before the 13th... and my 28 min recording was on sunday 9th.

So I will check my SW and App versions. dunno whether it will tell me the times they downloaded...? (as you suggest - hopefully the drop was after 9th...)

I'm in Bristol (BS...), anyone else out there from BS... have the code after 9th?

thanks John

Re: Failed

Note: I have never had any problems with failed recordings etc. but I did find that, after the s/w update, a few old programs I'd deleted reappeared as failed 0m0s recordings. I just deleted them all (again). I wonder if I'll see them again one day!!!?!?!?
