Dodgy HDMI socket.

Hi. I have been reading up on this and have decided that I have a dodgy HDMI socket on my V+ box. Apparently it's a common problem. I keep losing my picture which reappears if you fiddle with the plug in the socket, but it's getting to the stage now where it can take ages to get it back.
I just wanted to know if the box is mine or if I rent it from Virgin? I had it installed about 13 months ago (typical, eh?). Is it Virgins responsibility to fix/replace the box or am I on my own now?
Cheers.
Derek.

Derek, you still rent the box from virgin even if you are out of your contract period, therefor you can phone faults and report it, have you tried another cable? or (this may sound silly) tried reversing the current cable, ie put the end that is currently in the box, into the tv?

Yes I've tried every thing with switching and new cables. When the picture goes off if you press the plug down in the socket it comes back with whichever cable you use so I figure it Must be the socket. I've put a little weight on it to hold it down and it seems to be ok for the time being but I shouldn't have to do that.
Anyway thanks for your advice, I'll call them tomorrow.
Derek.
