Re: Thinking on ordering V+
I only recently had my V+ box and would not look back now, the recording is so easy when I think of all the recordings I lost or got missed endings because of tape shortage on video. Its so easy to use and well worth the money, I'm glad Virgin are at last competing head on against Sky in this area.

I was on a Pace STB a month back and got a V+ Replacement - The picture quality even in SD has improved dramatically.

Re: Thinking on ordering V+
I'm considering a V+, but I'm going to wait until this Phorm business resolves itself.
I'd love to have this service, but before I drop any more £'s on VM, they need to prove they value my custom.

WTF? Don't get it if you don't want it but I got it because I value their service - I doubt if they know who I am let alone 'value my custom'!

"WTF?"
I'll tell you WTF...you obviously didn't read the bit where I said I'd love to have this service.
Fortunately for me, I can see past having the shiny box with the nice flashing lights sat underneath my TV. If VM want to provide a package of services they ALL have to be fit for purpose, not one diamond and a couple of dog turds.
Anyway, that's OT. My final word is that I will get V+ IF VM bin Phorm AND when a newer, more capable V+ box is launched. "Bigger picture."

Re: Thinking on ordering V+
I agree that Phorm is a major issue.
I adopted all of the VM products before it came along. I couldn't be without the V+ now, but it may persuade me to switch internet and phone providers.

Re: Thinking on ordering V+
It's certainly good value at the moment, but isn't without it's drawbacks. For me the lack of HD is the biggest issue, with just one HD channel and a tiny amount of HD VOD it's rather pathetic.
The other gripe I have is with the UI, which looks absolutely hideous upscaled to 1080i and is so basic in both design and functionality it looks like it's fallen straight out of the 1980s. Compared to something like a windows media center PC, with it's gorgeous 1080p UI with lovely smooth effects and transitions, plus excellent search and categorisation functionality... V+ again feels like a relic.
But in my opinion it's still probably the best option around, with Sky HD comically expensive and and morally repugnant (Murdoch), and all the Freeview/Windows Media Center options having no HD and very few channels.
