Wow - I am on 11.2.2.2_ukcable & 1.5.14.107
There have been a few revs of the software since my box was updated!!! Still, I have no major gripes (shock horror!), although it would be nice if channel changing were quicker...
Please let us know what improvements you notice.

I hope so, but I won't hold my breath. The channel change speed on these boxes is frankly laughable and is definitely the worst feature of V+ in my opinion.

No it hasn't changed as far as I am concerned.
There does appear to be less drive noise though, I've never noticed that before.

I wonder if the new software will log what you watch and inject it's own adverts in your favorite programs!!

Or detect what types of programs you watch and then display 'relevent' ads in the on demand menus

Actually, it will make you order a takeaway Pizza from a Phorm client before you can watch any on demand content...

Re: V+ Code Drop Rolling Out Now...
The code will appear on ALL V+ PVR's between 11th March and 13th March
The code (code name 'UK3') will include the following:
- Premature Ending of Recordings
- Audio Drop-outs on recordings and live TV
- Recording Playback Failures (the 2056 Errors)
- Failed Recordings in general
- Inability to book Live and/or Adult Pay-Per-Night programming.
- Red Button Failure
The following improvements have been made:- Clearer indication of conflicting recordings
- Volume Adjustment from the settings menu
- Channel change time
- Back Up to DVD/VCR SCART output in HDMI mode
- Default Padding on New Installs ONLY (Doesnt affect Existing Customers)
The EPG will remain the same, and the updates will remain, in the vast majority, unoticable (apart from the Clearer Indication of Failing Programs.)
Finally, the V+ PVR's will receive the Code as a Download which will not reboot your box.

Re: V+ Code Drop Rolling Out Now...
Got mine today, channels change in 2.5 seconds.
I thought, that in the new update, the box actually powers down fully when you hit standby, mine doesn't

Re: V+ Code Drop Rolling Out Now...
Waterlooville - V+ box on 999 this morning when I switched it out of standby.....
Cammy - just for info mine goes back into standby as before....so I doubt it is just you. (No loss for me)....I did note that on 999 it said they recommend you turn off at the mains overnight (unless recording).

Most of the time i have stared to turn it off at the wall, but sometimes i like to record things that are through the night, i go to bed at 10pm as i start work at 6am. There a lot after 10 i record, last night for example there was south park shows, ghost story shows, UFO shows etc etc i always like watching.
My room is pretty small, and the V+ sounds so loud in the night on standby so i really was hoping it was true about the standby mode actually powering the box down

Re: V+ Code Drop Rolling Out Now...
Those of you who've had the update: can you please confirm which versions you are now on (and which area you are in)?
Home > Settings > Technical Stuff - Application version is ???

Thanks!

Re: V+ Code Drop Rolling Out Now...
Bristol UK - new black V+ box - Sci At - installed 2008-01-030 ...still on:
Applic 11.2.2.2_ukcable
SW 1.5.14.107
Works fine/great in all aspects into Pannie full HD 32"-various AV receivers/amps
APART FROM some audio drop-out on e.g recordings for wife/daughters of Tattoo progs on Ch 271 ...
PS - both series of 'Life On Mars' still available for free watching ...
- New buyers on hunt for Virgin still (I remember their/Branson's - Mike Oldfield proper original version (1 of 7000) on vinyl c. 1973) ...
Of course, we the punters could buy UK Cable/prove it's better-cheaper than Sky ...
