Pass PC s-video signal through V+ scart to CRT

Small trial project on the go before a hopeful htpc build. I've made an s-video with 3.5mm audio to scart lead to go from laptop to CRT. The cable works fine straight to tv giving colour, sound and 16:9 widescreen but the V+ box will not pass the signal through. It does this OK with a full scart lead from DVD player though.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I need the pass through to get the signal into my all-in-one home theatre amp.

Cheers

Re: Pass PC s-video signal through V+ scart to CRT

I myself am doing a bit of a project at the moment.
To save burning lost and other programs i have to download (no sky one).
I ran a dvi to vga cable from the second port of my video card to the back of my samsung lcd so i can play the video content straight on it this wont carry sound so along with this cable i have run 3.5 jack cables to a 5.1 speakers next to my tv giving me an awsome viewing experiance.

Im not a expert but

It seems to me that there are not enough pins to carry the full content from the V+ box.
have a look through the Ebay tv cable pages and see if anyone has sorted a cable that you need you never know

Thanks Planetgarb, I do have other options such as scart multi-tap but I'd prefer to avoid these if possible.

1. Is there an HDMI lead also connected to your V+ box?
2. Is the output setting in the menu set to RGB?

Thanks Zeph, no HDMI lead and I'll have a check and play with the RGB settings tonight.

I have an Asus motherboard that I might use for this build and it can be configured to output RGB so that might also be a way forward.

Oh I see what you're trying to do now, the V+ probably won't pass the signal through as it probably tries to amplify it, etc and probably doesn't pass through/support the required sync lines on the Scart, also, make sure that the Scart from the V+ to the TV is a fully wired one
