V+ Box Changes Channels So Slow
Ever since we had our V+ box installed a few weeks ago we've noticed how slow it is when changing channels. The old Samsung box was amazingly fast and you could whoosh through all the channels with no problems but this box just doesn't seem very fast at all. I would say it takes about 5secs to change from one channel to another If I go over to Freeview it's a fraction of that time

Thought there was a software update to fix this soon?

There is. It's still not Samsung speed, though.
The buffering thing is a myth. It doesn't start buffering until 3 seconds after you've changed channel.

Mine was slow changing channels too,
changed the batteries, goes like lightning now.
Either coincidence or weird.

Yeah, but 5 seconds sounds pretty excessive - mine can be 'sluggish', but rarely that bad.

Mine's already got new batteries in it, hate to think how slow it could be otherwise

Re: V+ Box Changes Channels So Slow
There is reported to be a software update planned for next month. This might include a fix for this. I guess we will have to wait and see. Mainly it is supposed to fix the sound glitches that some people experience.

Let's hope the software upgrade does solve the problem
So far, touch wood, I've had no sound problems. However I do get the odd time when the picture pixelates just like you get with Freeview. Something else I never had with my old set top box
I'm also finding the hard drive has nowhere enough space on it. When you consider a HD recording takes up 4 times the space of a SD recording then you can only record 20hrs of HD programmes, which isn't much. I am lucky in that I also have a DVD recorder so I'm recording all my SD programmes for that.
