Another New V+ owner question

I also had my V+ installed recently and have been supplied with HDMI cables and I have a HD ready TV

The question I have is if I use the Scart lead BBC HD and all other channels are very clear.

BUT

When I switch to HDMI as described in the booklet ( set to Hidef HDMI) and you have the message to agree with the test picture the Picture is very grey and contrasty.

Tried to set the Contrast/ brightness on the tv but no improvement

Have I missed a step somewhere or is that normal

thanks for any help

Re: Another New V+ owner question

You need to ensure you are using a HDMI mode supported by your TV. Not all TV will work with all the resolutions available, hence the test.

Re: Another New V+ owner question

Hi,

I had same problems until I realised that I was the problem!

I had to let my Panasonic 32 HDTV do its thing, without me interfering with anything. I was trying to force into HD from remote when I think I was actually stopping automatic configeration of TV.

Was about to phone Virgin technical support, and as the phone rang at Virgin I switched everything off at TV, then V+ box from the mains, turned on TV, then V+ box and let it do its 'thing' and lo and behold within two minutes stunning HD.

I have Just watched Rugby live on BBCHD, it really is brilliant!

What is the make and age of TV?

Also noticed the Volume control on V+ does not work in HDMI but does with Scart so unsure if box is to blame

Re: Another New V+ owner question

Have you tried a different cable/socket on the TV.
