Blu Ray Player Connection
If I buy a blu ray player with an HDMI connection, does this mean I have to keep swapping my VM & Blu Ray HDMI cables over if my TV only has one HDMI socket?
Is their a way round this?

Re: Blu Ray Player Connection
Some of the reviews on Amazon of that box are very worrying though... don't you think?

Re: Blu Ray Player Connection
There is nothing wrong with the HDMI Tri Link Switcher it is a great little HDMI switcher and just as good as any £180 HDMI Switcher.
You can use the V+ USB socket to power the HDMI Tri Link Switcher switch as you get both a USB power cable or you can use the supplied Main Adaptor.
There is nothing weak about the HDMI Tri Link Switcher it does exactly what it is designed to do.

Re: Blu Ray Player Connection
This 4-input £8.99 one on amazon works fine for us with BluRay-PS3 and fine V+ into Panasonic 32" HD at all resolutuions.
It is a bit lightweight, but does the job.

Re: Blu Ray Player Connection
The Oppo one is about £60 (not as much as £183). I haven't used it, but I do have an Oppo DVD player (the superb 980H) and their support is second to none. I'd certainly recommend them really highly.
If the £8:99 one does the job for you, that is fine. It looks a bit flakey though and I guess it is a physical switch - whereas the Oppo one is electronic (with repeater amps and signal shaping built in) and a remote control.

Based upon my experience with Monitor switches at work, I'd always recommend electronic switches over non-electronic switches. Physical switches seem to wear out, and while I don't know what effect this would have on an HDMI connection (although I can't imagine it is good), on a VGA connection it introduces ghosting to the picture.
