V+ recordings to PC ?

Hi, I am new here.

I was wondering, could anyone here help me with a proposed config for a V+ recording set-up to hdd (ie. cables/output/settings etc.).

I specifically require knowledge of the possibility to record "on demand" stuff direct to laptop/PC.

Thanks in advance

I think I heard that all the OD stuff was copy protected.

Re: V+ recordings to PC ?

Thank you for your swift responses...

I am fully aware of the protection surrounding OD programmes, however, if I could get around such prohibits what would be a general V+ to PC set-up ?

Thanks again

Re: V+ recordings to PC ?

If there is a way to "get round" such prohibits, you won't find that out on this forum, as that would be against our rules.

Since the only active outputs on the V+ are the HDMI (if you have HD enabled), scart and RF (if you do not enable HD), and the scart archive (if you enable HD), plus the audio, you'd have to work with that to record the TV stuff that the V+ allows.

Re: V+ recordings to PC ?

I would not (and did not) ask about how to "get round such prohibits" (I know the rules of this forum).

Thanks for your reply Rob, it seems like a scart to PC answer.

Cheers

Surely your wonderful V+ box, has the same as my 7 year old Tivo unit?

A network card, ethernet port, and running an ftp server?

Sorry, forgot, it doesn't does it.

Re: V+ recordings to PC ?

It seems that I should have done a bit more homework before committing to this "wonderful V+ box"...not as useful, or as good as I had expected (unlike hokkers999's 7 year old Tivo unit)...a little like Virgin's promised broadband speeds and their HD quality.

Cheers

Re: V+ recordings to PC ?

Buy a Slingbox and that will stream what's on your V+ Box to your PC (recorded content) then you can record that content to your PC's HDD.
