V+ Dvdr 155

hi

just got a V+ box - works fine

also bought today a Samsung Disk only DVD recorder 155 so I can archive good V+ stuff to disk

wired it all up with scarts as per samsung diagram

all works but I don't get the on-screen mini prog info

I know it is there because I've got another TV connected to the RF output of the V+ and all normal prog info is there to see

? why can't I see the prog info on main TV connected to the V+ and DVD-R ?

Thanks

RJ

Re: V+ Dvdr 155

The menus aren't displayed on the VCR SCART socket, only the TV one. It's not such a bad thing, as it means the menus don't mess up your recordings.

Connect your TV to the TV SCART socket and you'll be able to see the menus.

Re: V+ Dvdr 155

yes thanks - that does work I can see the prog info on main TV as well as secondary

although the problem now is how do I view the output from the DVD-recorder on the TV which is an old but much loved single scart TV ?

ie there's nowhere obvious to take the scart output from the DVD-recorder and plug it into something which will display on the TV ? ?

Re: V+ Dvdr 155

solved the problem !

If you have a single scart TV and want a V+ Box and also want DVD-Recorder to archive to DVD the way to do it is to use the co-ax output from the V+ box send this to the aerial input of the TV and tune it to say channel 6 or channel 9

then you can use this co-ax feed to control the V+ box as it has the on-screen graphics whilst the VCR/DVD output (with no on-screen graphics) is then scarted to the DVD-Recoder Input and viewed via the normal AV button

You can use the £25 Video-Sender from Argos to pipe DVD/V+ output round the house but you will need to wire co-ax round the house if want to see the on screen graphics ( use the video-sender to flash remote signals back the the V+/DVD-R etc
