TIVO to V+. Worth it?

Had my faithful TiVo for 6 years now but she is getting a little long in the tooth.

Is the V+ box similar in functionality to TiVo? I had heard that the V+ only buffers live TV if you press pause (TiVo always buffers) and that if you decide to start recording a program you have been watching, the V+ box will only record from the point you press record. The TiVo will record the whole program.

Are the above true?

Views appreciated please.

V+ will buffer up to 90 mins all the time, but will only record from when rec is pressed. You can also record 2 programmes whilst watching a third or a previous recording (three tuners).

Re: TIVO to V+. Worth it?

Compared to TIVO or a PC bsed PVR the favorites managment and scheduling conflict managment are woefully inadequate.

3 tuners are a big bonus and the only reason I'm keeping my V+

Got the £75 V+ letter today. Virgin must be sensing my indecision.
