Can I record V+ to laptop not DVD recorder

I have V+ service and would like to archive some recorded programmes to DVD. I however do not have a DVD player/record for my TV.

Can I link my V+ box straight to my laptop and use the laptop to record dvd's ?

What cable can link the two ?

scrat? You mean Scart? I haven't seen many laptops with a Scart socket, in fact I don't recall seeing one...ever.

You can get USB/PC Card TV Tuners for a laptop which quite often will have a Composite/Audio in combo in which case you could take input from the V+ that way

Beware! Recordings take up a LOT of space, because they are so precise!

For a 10sec recoding, it cost me 70Mb of my HDD with my TV card recording from the Aerial out on the Sammy STB!

Hopefully, there are forms of compression which arent too complicated.
