Re: tivo petition
And the reason why we should sign it is? Maybe if you actually explain what the petition is people might go and look at it.

This is a petition to get Virgin Media seriously considering licencing the Tivo OS from Tivo, Inc. for use on their V+ Box DVR as this would add an enourmous amount of useful functionality to the product, including (among other things) Season Passes, Wishlists and remote scheduling.

There, now that wasn't so difficult was it?
Next time, tell us what it's about or you'll quickly learn that nobody's bothered!

Re: tivo petition
A) I don't even really know what Tivo is, B) I don't use V+ as I think it's an overpriced VCR (albeit HDD based lol) and C) I just don't care about any of it lol.

Re: tivo petition
I've signed it.
As a Tivo user (on my Virgin cable box) up until I got the V+ box, I must say that as good as the V+ is, the software and capabilities are not a patch on Tivo's.
I do hope that Virgin would consider licensing the software from Tivo.

Re: tivo petition
I've signed it. I'm 100% sure it won't do any good, but unless you try you've got no cause to complain about anything.
I used to sell TiVO back in the day when it was brand new. I had the 'loaner' box for a week and really didn't want to give it back. I've never seen anything that was so user friendly and logical.

Re: tivo petition
Just out of interest, has anyone thought that it might cost Virgin MORE money they dont have to get this?
Think about it... if another company supplies them with the current service they provide, for X amount of years, then VM will have to pay compensation for the years they dont want the service for.
Also, if no company does it, and VM does it themselves, something which I HAVE heard, then why would they want to spend money on it?
I currently believe what they have now is perfect! PIP, the colour scheme and the layout are all perfect.
Sure, it has its problems, but Im sure they will be fixed, without going to TiVo and encountering NEW problems which will need fixing.
---------- Post added at 19:09 ---------- Previous post was at 19:05 ----------
All of the things these people want can be added by VM anyways! VM doesnt need to sign an expensive contract for that! Its just whether the people who type the descriptions can be bothered to enter a Directors name etc.
