Lightbulb Recording from TV Drive to DVD

Hi,

i was going to buy a dvd recorder today as my TV Drive box is nearing capacity and I do not want to delete things i have not seen yet.

How easy is it to copy from the TV Drive box to a dvd recorder and how does the process handle HD content from BBC HD etc?

Thanks for your help.

Stevie

Its very easy to copy to DVD, just hook up the DVD recorder via scart to the TV Drive, go to the menu option, press the button and off you go, records no problem. I dont know about HD content.

I tried recording to dvd yesterday but it only recorded bbc 1 so what did I do wrong? The scart lead goes from V+ to DVD and followed all the on screen instructions

Hi I would personally buy a hdd/dvd recorder, then I would record to the hard drive on the recorder and edit out such things as adverts or extra footage at the begining or end of your recording.

in relation to HD remember dvd recorders burn in standard definition, i would hate to think how much a HD recorder would be

  • Check to make sure that you have the scart connected to the bottom socket on the V+.
  • If this doesn't work and you are using HDMI it may be worth while reconfiguring your TV/V+ to scart and as a trial not linking in your DVD. If this works you will know that your scart cable is OK.
  • If this doesn't work and you can't get a picture then the problem lies with your scart cable.

Remember to disconnect everything from the power supply before disconnecting/connecting any cabling.

Can you recommend one? Don't need one with Freeview given that V+ does that and more I guess.

My dad has the following Toshiba from Asda. Never had any problems with it.

Or this one from argos, which is cheaper

Re: Recording from TV Drive to DVD

V+ still has the problem of recording the Picture and no sound/not the correct sound.

For example, you might set it to send a football match to DVD, but half way through, the box could decide to stop recording the sound on the recording, and instead, starts recording the sound from the channel you left it on/currently watching.

Bloody annoying if you ask me.

Id love to set my V+ to record 8 hours of stuff to DVD, but, sadly, the V+ is that glitchy, it wont do that properly.
