New V+ User
Hi all,
Only just got my V+ installed and working, finally. I had loads of problems with mine, so was just wondering how you guys find the service?
I've used a friends and it was pretty good but my main gripe (and always has been) with VM TV services is that they are TOO SLOW! They need to be faster, and it really frustrates me. Anyhow, what are your opinions of V+ generally?
:-)

Mine is ok sometimes. It does get slow but not constantly. The ondemand is tempremental but when it works is ok. Pity they havent got the same content across ExNTL and ExTelewest

I find mine slow, especially changing between stations but I understand that this is because as it changes channel it has to cache it so that the live TV function is available.

I love mine. The slow speed is something that you will get used to. VCR is unplugged and idle now.

Mine is not slow. I wonder if it has something to do with the area you are in. I am in Hounslow, West London.

I'm in Birmingham, West Mids. The channel changing isn't THAT slow, but it could still be a little faster in my opinion. Altogether though im very happy and like it a lot...although I did experience some sound drop outs on my first set of recordings.
And this might be a stupid question - but can the V+ box record when it's fully off? Or does it need to be in standby? I'm assuming the latter.

Re: New V+ User
V+ cannot record if it is not powered on (i.e. switched off at the mains) - standby is fine, however

Re: New V+ User
The speed is the worse thing. Usually it's not bad changing channels but sometimes it takes ages (upward of 30 seconds), and then suddenly plays catch up with all your remote presses.
It reminds me of the bug there was on some of the Samsung and Pace STB's for a while.
But.... love it. It's so good to be able to sit down and watch something you want to watch, when you want to watch it and it's so easy to record stuff too.
