Angry V+ glitches

Overall I'm really happy with V+ but there are things that have happened in the last couple of weeks that are proving annoying. I have a series link for several shows. I've had "Failed" show up on recordings or its telling me I have a clash when I don't.

Last night V+ just took the problem to a whole new level. It came up saying that my recording for Prison Break "failed". The only problem was Prison Break doesn't start until 10 pm yet it was telling me this around 6 pm! I cancelled the series link and set it up again and the same thing happened. Cancelled again and set it to record as a one off and that worked.

Called CS and explained the problem. He said I had a recording clash which was not the case at all. He could not accept I did not have a clash and in the end I terminated the call before he drove me to say something unpleasant. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

PS I've never got around to setting up my V+ remotes for volume control etc. I have a Samsung and a Goodmans TV - could someone direct me to the link so I can get the codes please? Thanks very much.

Mine won't control my Sammy (LE32R74BDX) - tried all the samsung codes & the LED does flash to show it's receiving a command, it just doesn't do anything....

Re: V+ glitches

Yes I've reset but it still happens every now and again. No I wasn't using the On Demand service.

Thanks for the info re the codes Kneebs - much appreciated.

A little tip: I got fed up of scrolling down the various categories in Home, especially if you are trying to get to Your Reminders! If you press the corresponding number next to the category (eg 6 for Sport) it gets you there so much quicker. Most people probably know this already but just thought I'd mention it in case you don't

Re: V+ glitches

Jade, I think the files which hold details of your current and future recordings and series links might have got confused. Have you tried reformatting the disk to take everything back to square one? Should sort it out - but you need to watch everything you've got recorded (or copy to VCR/DVD) first as it'll wipe everything.

Re: V+ glitches

Thanks 3MIN3M - you are a star! I'd tried all the other codes but 0079 finally cracked it!

Thanks for your suggestion too Quadplay - I'll give that a go when we've got round to watching everything saved. Now that football season is over it should prove a lot easier!

Re: V+ glitches

OK I've now tried all the codes listed by Virgin for Goodmans but none of them work. Does anyone know of another code out there that might work for a Goodmans model TD1540?
