V+ not the same as Analog....???

Hi

Had V+ installed yesterday and had an extra STB to feed 3 analog TV's upstairs via the RF output. When I was analog I could tune a channel on each TV to the normal terrestrial stations, BBC1, 2, ITV1, CH4 and 5 then have a sixth channel tuned to cable. This meant someone could watch say BBC1 in one room and someone else could watch cable in another.I can't do this now and I don't have an aerial. Is getting an aerial my only option?

Am I right in assuming I can plug the aerial into the aerial input on the STB (Samsung 2110C) and feed the RF out to my 3 analog TV's. I assume the STB will mix the digital cable signal and the aerial signal so they are both available on the RF output?? Will I then be able to tune them as before?

Also, if I split the ariel signal and feed it to my digital TV downstairs will I get the freeview channels. I have also lost teletext, will I get it back via the aerial?

Grateful for any advice.

Cheers

Only way you'll have the ability to tune to terrestrial channels via 2110 is if there is a bypass unit fitted on the back of your STB - small grey box that will fit onto the STB input. However, as you are a new install, the chances are that you won't have been installed with a bypass, and so won't have this functionality.

Any Anologue signals Virgin carry will be turned of this year so you'll need an aerial any way. Freeveiw will require an aerial (RF) feed of some sort anyway. Yes every tv will require the RF to watch channels 1-5 (five available via RF you lucky git)
enjoy RF while it lasts only a max of 5 years before its shut down and every TV will need a feed from a Digital box.

Do you have a citation for an announcement from Virgin Media about this?
