Re: V+ and Philips HDTV with no HDMI

Have you tried adjusting your -whatever it's called- to 720w or 1080w if that does not work thenyou should find the information in this thread will explain about the black lines. I hope, if I've done it right !!

Programme content broadcast in 4:3 aspect ratio, and displayed on a 16:9 aspect ratio screen will have black borders left and right: this is as designed. Your TV might have ways of zooming 4:3 content in various ways. Alterantively, you can configure the V+ box to settings 720wide or 1080wide, which will stretch 4:3 content sideways to 16:9, but I have never understood why anyone would wish to distort the picture in that way.

Re: V+ and Philips HDTV with no HDMI

to all those who have had problems with there v+ hdmi to dvi should carry sound.when conecting your cables to the tv and your v+ both of these should be turned off completey for starters then do the settings . and should not loose any sound when you have no power ie: power cut!!!!!!
need to adjust your telly settings not your v+ if in 1080 this will solve most problems

Re: V+ and Philips HDTV with no HDMI

DVI cable only carries video and will not supply audio.

DVI cable only carries video and will not supply audio. Hence the need for separate audio leads.

If you turn off the TV and V+box how do you adjust the settings?
How can you not lose sound when there's a power cut?
