V+ Dropping sound

Well it looks like ive gone from one problem to another, ive only just last week had my box replaced and now the new box keeps dropping sound. My old box had a fair few problems but this is totally new to me, the other one didnt do this. Ive done a search but couldnt find any cure for it, I believe the update should of fixed this, however it doesnt appear to have with mine. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?

Thanx

Re: V+ Dropping sound

Is that all the time or when watching recorded programmes? Mine is ok most of the time but when watching recordings of "location location location" the sound drops every 30 seconds or so for a second. Only seems to be this programme!

It just started happening to me about an hour ago... and Scuzz and Kerrang shound like a cd is skipping.

Its ok now, though: I just bashed the top of it and pressed the reboot button.

So a good whack sorted it? Ive spoken to my house mate and he was watching tv last night when the sound went off and he recorded what was going on, but on playback he said the sound was back to normal, its very odd.

Ive spoken to vm on the phone and at first he tried blaming my tv, he asked had I got all my scarts plugged in correctly, i told him i dont use any its all hdmi, he then said maybe its your TV. I told him it wasnt as the previous box i had didnt do this nor did my tv so its your box it has to be. There sending someone out tomorrow, what he'll do i dont know, I'll post back with whatever he does.

Re: V+ Dropping sound

This is a fault that has been acknowledged in the VM newsgroups. The VM people who reply in the newsgroups have reported it to the V+ department, but they have no cure so far.
Strangely, this only started happening after the last code drop to "fix" other problems with the box!!

You can format the box yourself, but you loose EVERYTHING that is on it! Look about for the instructions if you want o give it a try, but various people have also posted in he newsgroups to say it made no difference to the problem on their box.

Re: V+ Dropping sound

Yes the code drop on 15th March has caused this problem and it happens on recordings particularly from lower bit-rated channels.

The sound also drops out on Live TV & Delay TV when you've exited from a recorded programme while the V+ is recording!

On the newsgroup someone has reformatted the V+ box but its made no difference.

Re: V+ Dropping sound

I should of searched the forums closer, as I'm having this problem, as described in this thread I started today.
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...und-issue.html

For me I lose the last 5 mins of the news on BBC1 @ 18:55 for the last week (As I've noticed) doesn't seem to have effected any of the other channels, I've only noticed it on BBC1 @ 6.55pm during the last 5 mins of the news.
It's a strange one, I hope that some sort of update can sort this out.
I expect I'm going to have phone VM and have my AV know how questioned, then my equipment questioned, before they even think about helping me, even though they are most likely very aware of this problem.

Re: V+ Dropping sound

I'm not sure that's the same problem, arthur. On mine the sound is only off for about a second, not five minutes.
