V+ Box hums

Anyone else notice the noise that comes from the v box... mine has a constant hum all the time even in stand by mode - in fact the only way to tell it is on stand by is cause the "halo"light is on...

is just me ... do i have a faulty box ?

Mine does this as well, is it not just the cooling fan for the hard disc?

Re: V+ Box hums

Mine goes from a bearable hum to a racket which sounds like the fan is about to go - I later found out that the hum is exacerbated by it being on top of my DVD player so I have put a tea towel between both boxes which seems to have done the trick.

Re: V+ Box hums

Another thread exists on this, guys - with some handy hints on reducing the noise.
