Re: V+ Unavailable

You will have to re do them iam afraid Rabid Dream put this in the info on the site Think long and hard about whether you need to do this. You will lose all your recorded programmes, plus all planned recordings and series. But it might be necessary if your V+ is playing up badly. Remember that if Virgin Media swap the box you'll lose your recordings anyway, so it's worth a go as a last resort.

If you decide to go ahead with the reformat, this is how you do it. You need to do all this using the remote, not the front panel buttons.
1) Press the Home button.
2) Press and hold the Play/Pause button until the display says E-00.
3) Press the V+ or TVDrive button. The display will say E-01.
4) Press the ch- button 4 times. The display will say 'hdd4'.
5) The V+ will then begin the reformat, and the display will say 'rft'. This may take up to 5 minutes. Afterwards the V+ will reboot normally.
If you get in a muddle when pressing the buttons, press RESET, let the box reboot, then try again.

It depends on what he has on the van some days we get pace and other days we get samsungs .We get no choice as the boxes are deliverd to our byboxes its a 50 50 gamble .All you can do is ask as for the cards only the v+ boxes use the virgin card there all same

darcysarto is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: V+ Unavailable

I had the exact same problem last night and quite frankly if I'd had to reformat the hd I suspect the missus would have reformatted me. Having tried the reset button 3 or 4 times without success I then tried the age old method of unplugging the darn thing and plugging it back in. Thankfully it worked!

it wont do any good demanding a samsung,as ned says we have no vision or choice of what we get given.we place faulty boxes in a locker on a petrol station (and such like).that same night a van driver picks them up,then the night after we get the same compliment back in the locker,so if your tech only has pace (weve had nothing but for 6-8 weeks) then thats all he can give you.piece of advice,if someone DEMANDS a specific box they are less likely to get 1 as say a person whos friendly and amiable.(human nature dictates here)
