Grren haze when whatching TV

Hello all

I need some help please or some advice from someone

I had the virgin + box installed about a month ago now and everything was going ok with the service the picture the quality etc but for the last week iv been getting this interference on my tv when whatching any of the channels its like a green fuzzy haze interference all over the screen then it switches to just green and then my tv goes black for a couple of minutes and then sorts it self out and after a minute or two the whole thing repeats its self again and again its really annoying it happens like 3 times a night for two hours over all in about 6 hours this is not acceptable has anyone else had the same problem?

im running the v+ box with hdmi to my yamaha amp with hdmi through to my tv my amp flashes PCB when this happens also

thanx

The obvious thing to check is that all leads are securely fixed.

If you still have problems, you may want to rule out a fault on your own kit. What happens if you swap cables around connecting directly between the TV and V+ without the amp? Does the fault occur if you use a scart instead of HDMI?

If the fault persists you'll need to call VM faults, the difficulty for you is ensuing its the VM kit and not your own that has gone wonky.

Hello, same problem here. Mark Grant HDMI cable( needed a longer one than was going to be supplied), doubt it's faulty. Documented on a previous post (here or AV forums) that quality control of the HDMI port on some V+ boxes was a known issue. Certainly mine has exactly same problems you describe. Initially occurred when setting up scart out for archiving, there is a wee bit of play with that part of the box - I suspect may be a shared board or something with loose connection. I also no longer can switch to the 1080 setting - just get a white out, though my plasma supports it ( and it did work initially). As am happy with 720 now and it's currently working (and I can't afford time off work) have let sleeping dogs lie, but suspect we both have boxes with the same intermittent hardware fault.
