V+ Guide and Recording Comments

I have now had a V+ box for a week and believe it is a great piece of equipment and works very well.

My only real complaint so far (apart from the small size of the hard disc and not being able to plug an external disc into the USB port) relates to the EPG and recording facilities.

I have been used to using a Tivo and for that matter a Media Center PC so I guess I have been spoilt.

My inititial thoughts on what is currently missing are:

(1) The ability to view any programme guide information more than one week in advance. My Tivo shows details for two to three weeks in advance. I can understand this being a problem on normal cable boxes but on the V+ this must be held on the hard disc.

(2) No ability to allow searches within the TV guide by title, genre, artists etc

(3) No facility to specify whether First Run or Repeats should be recorded or the number of episodes of a series to be stored (eg maximum of 5)

(4) The small amount of detail given (even when pressing the Information button) for each programme

Does anyone know of a "wish list" of enhancements or what plans there are for future software upgrades?
