v+ installation warning

i have just received a phone call from virgin media that my installation of my v+ box will now be the 19th of april instead of the 20th of march. the reason for this was due to the high demand and now being out of stock. surely when i called the retention number last week and was offered this service to keep me with virgin they were aware of the problem. this is not the way a company should operate they certainly don't like to look after their customers and don't honour their contracts

Re: v+ installation warning

well to be honest they should have realised as they are trying to keep people from switching to sky and in doing so they are offering the v+ along with good package deals

Re: v+ installation warning

I am in the same boat! My year was up ran to term my contract (tv, Phone and BB) and they offered me the V+ service and a reduction in price in my services! Got it all arranged on for Sat 24th March. All happy and not going to Sky+. Got my letter comfirming installation.. Great I thought! Got a phone call last night saying sorry we cant install to after 29th April. A month to wait!!! Call back today and asked if I waited a month got V+ at that date and if I didnt like the services could I cancel then? The reply was no I was locked into a 12 month contract!
Like someone has stated surely they would know how many boxes they have ready?
Sorry to moan with my 1st post!

Re: v+ installation warning

Just had a call from Virgin Media myself. My V+ Box was due for install on 22nd March along with an SACM. Now my V+ Box won't be installed until 19th April, but still having SACM installed on the 22nd March.

Tried asking for an earlier date, and they said this is the earliest date they are allowed to give. I also asked if date would change again, and they said no, the 19th April is when my V+ Box will definely be installed.

They did say I can ask for conpensation when my V+ Box is installed from CS, for the delay in installing the new box. Wonder how much compensation I'll get?

Re: v+ installation warning

Hi, I orderd the VIP package with the V+ box 10 days ago and was told 3rd April Install. I told a friend about service and he signed up and had his instlation date 3 days later! I phoned virgin to complain and the customer service guy said they must have made an error as they have no V+ boxes. Anyway the engineer turned up to install my friends with a V+ box. My friend said the engineer was unaware of no boxes being available. I was furious and phoned up virgin to say how dissapointed to be fobed off. Anyway they installed my V+ box yesterday.

Hmm - interesting. My V+ box was installed last Tuesday. I was getting a lot of sound breaks on recordings, so I called Monday. They booked an engineer for today, he came this afternoon and just swapped the box straightaway.

Thought I would update you, the day after I posted this I rang to cancel my contract, no surprise there! they accepted it and set the 30 days notice. So this morning I had a change of mind and thought I might as well stay and wait another month to get V+. SO I called back and spoke to Virgin retentions advisor by the name of Adrain in Teeside. Told him my woes and he said he would look into what he could! Some how he spoke a the sales/installtion manager in Leeds and arranged for the V+ to be installed in 15 mins. 15 mins later 2 engineers arrived and my door and installed my shiny new black V+ box. WOW talk about awesome customer services, he must have been one in a million!!!!

Don't fret too much! A lot of things including VOD don't work on the V+ Box.
