V+ Box and DVI TV
I've just had a V+ box installed and connected up the box to my tv using a DVI to HDMI cable. I have gone to the component part of the tv, which is what the techie did, and I can't see either a picture or hear sound. I have gone to settings and done the HD component test thing, but still nothing. All my TV does when in component is say going to dmp mode or sommat, then it goes blank. sorry this is convoluted but I'm not a techie. Any help would be gratefully receieved.

Re: V+ Box and DVI TV
when you set it up you put the test on then when the screen goes blank change your tv to show which input you are watching it through ie DVI or HDMI and if you se the pic follow the screen instuctions if not try a different setting the blank screen should revert back to normal (through scart) picture afer about 10-15 secs

Re: V+ Box and DVI TV
rememba that DVI dont support sound, only video.Well, you can use Optical or Coaxial cable and connect that to the Home Cinema, receiver, dvd etc, that allow you to get Dolby or 5.1

It's not HD Component, it's HDMI - the one that's not component and that will just get you the picture. Then you need to get yourself some audio plugs that have the LR at one end and the phono (computer audio) type jack at the other. The 2 plug into the box, the one should plug into the back of the TV near the DVI socket.
Got this info off another thread, and works perfectly on mine.

Re: V+ Box and DVI TV
Okay, I apologise for sounding so clueless, but I have the technical nouse of a pube. I have recently taken delivery of a V+ box and want to use the BBC HD channel. I have connected the tv to the box using the DVI to HDMI cable and plugged in the red and white audio cables. I have changed the settings from widescreen to high def HDMI and done the relevant test. I have unplugged the scart lead. The thing is I can't get a picture or any sound and it's driving me round the bend. The TV is apparently HD ready (it's a LG RZ26lz50). Anyone got any suggestions on how I can get going. Your hepl would be most appreciated..

Re: V+ Box and DVI TV
does your tv support 720i and above, if not the v+ box may not work, settings available on the v+ are 720, 1080, 720wide and 1080wide....which is why you may not get a picture..... check out the tv manual.

Sounds like a similar tv to mine. You should find that you'll need to switch through the different screen options (i.e. AV1, AV2, composite and then PC). On the PC one leave it for a moment and it'll find the V+ box - and you'll have a picture.
Next you'll need a 2-into-1 audio lead (phono's at one end - i.e. red cable and a white cable and a single 3.5mm jack at the other end - like you'd put in you pc audio socket). Next to the DVI input socket you'll see the small 3.5mm audio input jack (socket) - and this is where you'll need to plug you sound into.
Good luck.
