Scart video out...
I have my equipment connected on the usual manner (scart from V+ to TV, scart from V+ to DVD recorder) and had it this way with my old samsung box. Only now with the V+ box, it only outputs sound and a blank screen into my DVD recorder via the scart, and no sound and green screen via the aerial lead so I can't transfer anything to DVD. I've tried all the possible scart combinations, all with the same result. I got an engineer out to look at it, he tested the box, said it was fine, also tried all scart combinations, and in the end he was as baffled as me. I also rang the DVD manufaturer, they suggested different scart setups, but they were unable to help too. Anyone had the same problem, or any suggestions? The DVD recorder is a Toshiba RDXS34.

Re: Scart video out...
I think the only time the VCR scart is active is when using "copy to VCR/DVD" in the V+ Extras menu. I know this is the case if you activate the component or HDMI outs on the V+ as it disables all other output sources.

VCR is active even when using hdmi.
So you can record straight to vcr. You will see no menus though.

Re: Scart video out...
The symptoms listed by the original poster are correct when a High-Definition video output mode is selected. The VCR SCART video output is only active when the V+HD box special "copy to VHS/DVD" option is selected.

Really? I just get a blue screen on my Combi Drive from the V+ unless I'm copying from the V+. Are you saying I can schedule my Combi Drive to record the current channel and it should? I don't see how if I don't see any picture?
____
Just tried and nope - no scart feed from V+ to combi drive unless I disable the HDMI setting. It will record sound, but no picture.

Based on my experience so far and what others have said, if you've got it set to HDMI you can only record live onto the V+ box, then you can transfer it to the DVD recorder. If you want to record to the DVD recorder, reset your TV to use the SCART and your DVD recorder will now be able to record Live TV again.

Re: Scart video out...
I have a non HD set, and have hdmi disabled on the V+ box, but only get a picture via the VCR scart when I am transfering a recording to my DVD recorder. Other wise I get a black screen and sound.

Dumb question, but are you going to the right AV channel on the TV to view the VCR? I have to change my AV channel (when set to scart, not HDMI) to view, where I used to be able to view it without changing AV channel.

Re: Scart video out...
Yep, like i said I had tried every scart combination, the one I have at the mo is this one, which I have always had and never had any problems with till I got the new box. I can change the input via my DVD remote that has a button to switch between TV and DVD, and it's always shown NTL as passed through my DVD, but now I get the same with no picture.

Re: Scart video out...
You can record via RGB scart but can't use HDMI at same time, & you can't watch something different
or You can record via composite scart (VCR) using the 'Record to VCR' menu but you're stuck with poorer quality but you can watch something else whilst recording

Re: Scart video out...
Like I said, I can't record live via scart on either RGB or composite I only get a black screen and sound, and I have a CRT TV so have the output set to 16:9, the only thing I can do is use the "copy to VCR/DVD" function.

We may have hit on the first real advantage that the SKY HD box has over the V+. With the HDMI connection enabled there is full ouput from the scart on the SKY HD box and it allows full control from the remote TV if fed through a standard video sender.
