V+ Series link annoyance

I know this is only a small issue but it's annoying me. When i set the V+ box to record a series, it will also record the repeats. For example, i've got a series link for ER which is on Thursday nights on E4 but the V+ box will also record the repeat every Sunday. When I had sky+ it was clever enough to realise i didn't want every repeat as well. Is there any way round this ?

Strange, I set up Bill Oddie as a series link, which is then repeated later in the week on the same channel. It only records new episodes.

When you press the yellow button to record the series can't you move across andf select "CHOOSE"? It should give you a list of the episodes on in the week and you should be able to pick which one(s) you want. Not tried it myself yet.
