there was a major outage this evening, due to a cable break apparently. When rebooting in these circumstances my TVdrive stopped at the 'powering up wait for a few moments' screen and everything was locked. Does this mean that recorded programs cannot be accessed if cable connection is not fully functional? Security 'feature' one supposes?
...and will allow providers to set a 'lifespan' on recordings by deleting them after a set time. I see the BBC may have this thrust upon their VOD offerings by the regulator. One of the reasons given is to protect the DVD industry, e.g. Blockbuster. This country has gone bonkers.......
